The PML pan works on both the A750E and the A750F. 4x4 trucks and SUVs have the A750F. Rear wheel drive trucks and SUVs have the A750E. The stock transmission pan and filter are the same for both.

The Toyota A750E, A750F 5 speed transmission is commonly found in several Toyota trucks and SUVs and some Lexus SUVs:

    • 4Runner V6 4.0L RWD 2003 to 2022
    • 4Runner V6 4.0L 4x4 2003 to 2022
    • 4Runner V8 4.7L (RWD or 4x4) 2003 to 2009

    • FJ Cruiser 4.0L 2007 to 2014

    • Sequoia V8 4.7L 2005 to 2008 (some 2005 and 2006 have A340 transmission)

    • Tacoma 4.0L 2005 to 2015 or 2016

    • Tundra 4.0L 2005 to 2008 and 2014 to 2015
    • Tundra 4.7L 2005 to 2008 and 2014 to 2015

    • Land Cruiser 100, 2003-2006, gas and diesel (probably other Land Cruiser models/years also)

    • Lexus LX (2003 to 2007) and GX 470 (2003 to 2009)

    • Some international Isuzu D–max trucks

Configurations vary! Always check your vehicle to verify transmission and space available for a larger pan. PML cannot guarantee fitment and there is a restocking fee on returns.

Skid Plates: This PML pan should work with skid plates. We have had installations of this pan on FJ Cruisers with RCI and with Ricochet skid plates. There was no interference. Always check clearance on your specific configuration.

A761 Transmission: This PML A750 transmission pan probably may not fit the 6 speed A761 transmission, found on Lexus and 2009 and up Sequoia and Tundra. The filter and stock pans have different part numbers.

    2021 4Runner

Joe installed this pan on his 2021 4Runner TRD ORP. Here is a list of the tools and parts he used:

    • Toyota transmission filter, O-Ring and Pan Gasket Part Numbers: 35330-60050, 90301-31014, 35168-60010
    • Two 4-liter jugs Ravenol ATF Fluid T-WS
    • Anti-seize (for the new pans Gold Plug magnetic drain plug)
    • Thread sealant (for the new pans level check hole)
    • Blue Loctite 242 (for the new transmission pan bolts)
    • Various socket wrenches including 24mm socket for factory transmission fill plug, 10mm socket for factory transmission pan bolts, 5mm hex socket for PML transmission pan bolts
    • Torque wrench
    • OBD-II scanner
    • Infrared Thermometer Gun
    • Brake cleaner
    • Transmission oil recycling jug
    • Fluid pump
    • Lots of paper towels

Start to finish a little less than 3 hours. The OBD-II scanner reading was 113 degrees while the infrared thermometer gun reading 104 degrees across most of the PML pan (both values within Toyota’s spec range). Joe drained about 3 quarts drained out of the factory drain plug and when he dropped the pan, he found about a quart still in the pan. He refilled the new pan from the factory fill hole and followed standard Toyota procedures to check the fluid level. PML pan added 2 quarts of capacity.

Robert of Triad Holsters installed this pan on his 2010 FJC. His FJC has a Magnuson Supercharger, Wholesale Automatic Transmission, External Transmission Cooler, Torque Converter Lockup Module, and Nomad Valve Body.

He remounted his Ricochet Skid Plates, with no interference.

Robert also made a neat video of his installation.

Here is Robert's report on the installation:

The hex head bolts 6-1 that we measured to be 25mm were the appropriate size in all 20 holes.  However we met resistance while installing the pan in he side holes, not allowing for the bolts to be installed fully. We estimate that the bolts stopped at about 2mm short.  The reason for this was the threads at the top side of the transmission housing were corroded and would not easily allow for the bolts to pass through.  This was remedied by running a tap through each hole to clean to threads out fully, passing completely through.  The design of the holes on the side of the transmission housing are open at the top.

It was hard for us to properly estimate the additional amount of fluid required over OEM capacity due to the fact the FJ Cruiser is equipped with the external transmission cooler.

A Fel-pro TOS 18736 gasket was utilized for install, and Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket.

There was not interference between the pan and the chassis components, exhaust, or driveline.

The temperature sensor installed on the passenger side of the pan is far from the routing of the exhaust, and would definitely be the prefered side, due to the proximity of the front drive shaft.

    2007 FJ Cruiser

Ric installed this PML A750 transmission pan on his FJ Cruiser 4.0. The transmission valve body had burr that kept the PML pan from fitting correctly. After carefully deburring the valve body, everything fit perfectly.

He drained about 4 quarts of fluid out and put in about 7.

    2006 Tacoma

Jonathan contacted us since the drain plug on his stock pan was rusted out. He reported that the PML pan "fit perfect". The side holes definitely need a tap ran thru them as they were all corroded towards the top. On some holes he added extra washers since the bolts were bottoming out.

    2006 Tundra

Brian installed this PML transmission pan on his 2006 Tundra 4.7 4WD truck. He recommends using a long 5mm hex socket wrench, shown in 3rd picture below. He used Toyota WS transmission fluid and a WIX 51836 transmission filter kit with gasket. Filling was done through the upper fill hole with a funnel and tube. Brian had no clearance issues with the installation of this pan on his Tundra.

Drain is on the left/driver side

The PML level check hole is on the passenger/right side. On the PML pan, the level check hole is at the same location relative to the transmission as on the stock pan.

There should be a fill hole on the main casing, no dip stick or fill tube, but the level check hole can also be used to fill.

Optionally, PML can drill and tap a 1/8 NPT hole for a temperature sending unit. This would be for an aftermarket temperature gage. There is a custom machining charge. There is a boss (thick area) on the passenger side of the pan for this. Select the option before adding pan to cart. A plug for the hole is included. The standard size is 1/8 NPT. Check your aftermarket gage to verify the thread specifications for the sending unit before ordering. Call or email if you need a different size.

    Filter and Gasket

The PML A750 transmission pan works with the stock gasket and filter (not included). PML recommends a soft, flexible gasket, such as one made of fiber, paper, cork or cork composite material.
