6063 Straight Fin Cover:
3.7 inch depth

Depth works with lifted trucks and with trucks older than about 1999 for Dodge and 2001 for Ford. In newer stock trucks, this cover is too deep for the suspension and steering components.

10737 Patterned Fin Cover:
3.1 inch depth

Depth works with about 1999/2001 and newer stock trucks where the suspension is closer to the stock cover. Note that the depth is not enough for the ring gear on about 1997 and older trucks.

6063 Straight Fin Cover:
No Steering Linkage Clearance

No indent or relief on driver's side for steering linkage. When wheels are at limits the steering linkage gets very close to the stock cover on about 1999 and newer Dodges and 2001 and newer Fords. Older trucks and lifted or modified trucks should check.

10737 Patterned Fin Cover:
Has Steering Linkage Clearance

Has an indent or relief on driver's side near the top to clear steering linkage. When wheels are at limits the steering linkage gets very close to the stock cover on about 1999 and newer Dodges and 2001 and newer Fords.

6063 Straight Fin Cover:
Clears Old Style Ring Gear

Round shape clears the larger ring gear found on about 1997 and older trucks.

10737 Patterned Fin Cover:
Does Not Clear Old Style Ring Gear

Flat face shape does not have enough room for 1997 and older front Dana 60 gears. The flat face shape does clear the ring gear in 1998 and newer trucks and it also clears the suspension and steering linkage in the 1999 and newer Dodge and 2001 and newer Ford trucks.

Both covers are available in choice of finish: as-cast, black powder coated, polished

Both covers have the same capacity: about 0.5 quarts over stock

Both covers have a drain on the bottom and a level check/fill hole on the side.

Neither cover has a location for optional temperature sending unit machining.
